Each player begins the game with 5 randomly contracted diseases and $500. Disease cards are color-coded to indicate each disease’s severity----white is minor, blue is worse, and red is serious. Some diseases are contagious. Treatment cards range from Intensive Care (most expensive) to Voodoo Doctor (cheapest). The object of Infection is to cure all of your diseases first, or to be the last player left living (note: players having the misfortune to contract 5 red diseases at once are out of the game----deceased). The board’s squares are thoughtful and often hilarious, including “Medicaid Check,” “Brain Transplant,” and “Vitamin Overdose,” among many others. Just as informative as reading a medical dictionary, and much, much more fun!
