Terrific Toys: You've Been Sentenced Language Game

The potential for laughter is off the charts when you play You’ve Been Sentenced! The name’s obvious pun is grounded in fact: it’s a sentence construction game where a jury panel determines a verdict. You’ve Been Sentenced comes with 540 pentagon-shaped cards. Each card contains five words in one of five categories: 1) conjugations of nouns, verbs, adjectives, or adverbs; 2) character cards with famous historical names; 3) place cards with familiar places; 4) PAC cards with prepositions, articles and conjunctions; and, 5) wild cards. Players are dealt 10 cards, which they try to arrange into a (somewhat) sensible sentence (the cards are designed to stack neatly so that the entire sentence will read downward). The other players then judge the sentence for grammatical correctness, and whether it makes sense. True hilarity happens when someone tries to defend an obviously rediculous sentence. Includes 2700 words on 540 Pentagonal cards, score pad, sand timer, pencil, and four-page rules booklet in a unique, five-sided box. For three to ten players, age eight through adult.
